On May 15, a study delegation of 20 members from vocational colleges, organized by the Hunan Provincial Education Association for International Exchange, visited Yellow River Conservancy Technical University (YRCTU) for research and exchange. Liu Guoqing and Yang Xianzhong, Vice Presidents of the association, attended the event together with YRCTU President Hu Hao and Vice President Jian Haoran. Representatives from the Liaison and Cooperation Department and the School of International Education also took part.

Hu Hao, on behalf of YRCTU, extended a warm welcome to the study delegation and gave a comprehensive overview of YRCTU’s progress and achievements. He noted that YRCTU has remained committed to its strengths in water conservancy, pursued a consistent long‑term vision with sustained effort, and followed a strategic framework known as the “13695” work plan. These efforts have yielded three major breakthroughs: a rise in educational standing, the creation of a civilized campus, and recognition as a high‑level vocational college under the national “Double High” initiative. Together, these achievements have laid a solid foundation for YRCTU to become a high‑level vocational university known for its distinctive features, national reputation, and global reach.
Liu Guoqing expressed gratitude for YRCTU’s warm reception. He said that YRCTU has achieved outstanding results and gained valuable experience in the internationalization of vocational education, setting an example for vocational colleges in Hunan. He expressed hope that the visit would help establish a long‑term cooperative framework and facilitate practical collaboration between the two sides.
Jian Haoran introduced YRCTU’s strategic orientation for internationalization and its overall educational framework. He stated that YRCTU follows an open approach to education and has made notable progress in areas such as expanding vocational education internationally, running cooperative programs, and enrolling international students. He expressed the hope that this exchange would deepen resource sharing and complementarity between vocational colleges of the two provinces, raising the level of internationalization in vocational education.
The two sides held in‑depth discussions on topics including pathways for global vocational education, cultivation of internationally oriented talent, and the development of international exchange networks. During the visit, the study delegation toured YRCTU’s School of International Education and its training facilities, gaining first‑hand insight into YRCTU’s educational infrastructure, globally oriented learning environment, and distinctive programs.
The visit deepened exchanges between YRCTU and vocational colleges in Hunan and laid a solid foundation for closer collaboration between colleges within and beyond Henan, as well as for expanding international cooperation in vocational education.
