On May 9, our university held a preparatory meeting for the 13th Cross-Strait Youth Engineering Camp on Water Resources. The event was attended by Jiang Yunzhong, Vice President of the China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research (IWHR), and Wang Yanwei, Director of its Department of International Cooperation; Yan Pengfei, Director of the Exchange Division, and Li Cheng, Deputy Director of the Henan Provincial Taiwan Affairs Office; as well as Hu Hao, President of our university, Zhou Zhiqi, Vice President, and Liu Xuliang, Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection.
Heads of the Liaison and Cooperation Department, the Science and Technology Department, the School of Water Conservancy Engineering, and other relevant departments also took part.

Hu Hao expressed sincere gratitude to IWHR for entrusting YRCTU with hosting the Youth Camp on WaterResources. He noted that the camp serves as an important platform to deepen cross-strait academic cooperation in water resources and promote exchanges among young professionals. It holds great significance for building industry synergy and carrying forward the tradition of water management. He called on all departments to pay close attention, assign clear responsibilities, and carry out preparatory work with a pragmatic approach, ensuring the camp stands out for its distinctive features and tangible results.
Jiang Yunzhong put forward specific requirements for the camp preparations. He stated that IWHR would leverage its resources and expertise to build a platform for academic seminars and practical exchanges for young water professionals from both sides of the strait. He expressed the hope that the camp would serve as an opportunity to foster mutual learning and shared achievements among cross-strait youth, strengthen research collaboration between institutions, and contribute to the high-quality development of the water sector.
Yan Pengfei briefly outlined relevant policies and regulations regarding cross-strait personnel exchanges. He said the Taiwan Affairs Office of Henan Province would provide full policy guidance and assistance with travel procedures, offering support to ensure the smooth operation of the Youth Camp on WaterResources.
Participants exchanged views on key matters such as event arrangements and support services.All relevant units pledged to work closely together, strengthen implementation, and complete all preparatory tasks to ensure the camp runs smoothly. These efforts will further deepen communication, friendship, and mutual learning among cross-strait youth in the water sector.
