Recently, Yang Ning, a faculty member from the School of Finance and Accounting at Yellow River Conservancy Technical University (YRCTU), successfully completed her visiting scholar program under the local cooperation project’s innovation subproject sponsored by the China Scholarship Council (CSC). She returned to YRCTU after a six-month academic exchange at the University of Bolton in the United Kingdom.
During her visit, Yang Ning focused on areas such as green finance and risk management. She systematically studied advanced British teaching concepts and practical methods, and achieved substantial results in teaching and research. She actively participated in core courses including Microeconomics and Finance, independently delivered lectures in the classroom, and guided student theses. She was invited to present a paper in English at the international academic conference “Empowering Leaders for Global Contemporary Businesses.” She published two professional academic papers and completed a soft science project commissioned by the Science and Technology Department of Henan Province. One high-level paper on transition finance is under external review at a leading international journal.
In December 2024, the “International Innovation Talent Training Program for Water Management in Henan Province in the New Era,” jointly applied for by YRCTU, was approved as a CSC local innovation subproject of the cooperation project. This marked the first such project approved for a vocational institution in Henan Province. This overseas study represents a milestone achievement as YRCTU’s first successful dispatch of a faculty member abroad under a CSC program. The experience broadened the teacher’s international academic perspective and enhanced her teaching, research, and communication skills. It also gave strong momentum to curriculum reform in finance and accounting, supported international innovation talent training for water management in Henan Province, and expanded YRCTU’s global cooperation channels.
